Mexico Visit/ Wildlife Park

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Brian had to make a quick trip across the border to Allende to turn in our vehicle permit and visa because we think we have sold our suburban.  He then visited with Dr. Reuben, his wonderful family, and Gloria (Director of Bienestar) in Piedras Negras.  Dr. Reuben and Brian then went back to Allende to see Pastor Armando to discuss a new project that we will be involved with after returning from Costa Rica.  This new adventure will help encourage and train pastors and their congregations as well as work with churches in the U.S.  Yeah!!!  Below is a pic of Dr. Reuben and his lovely wife.

While Brian was away, no major sickness or accidents this time.  My sister, who is 16 weeks pregnant, came down to visit, and we took the kids to the Wildlife Park in Garden Ridge.  The kids loved it!  Micaiah’s favorite animals were the zebras, and Carson’s were the ostriches.  We did not allow any animal to stick their head through the car window!  Carson took many pictures of our outing as you can see…he is quite the budding photographer.

Micaiah loves animals, but this creature scared her to death…it is really hairy!

Our departure date for Costa Rica is April 16!  It is not long now… Next week we will be taking a family vacation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming with my parents and my sister and her husband, so we have to bust out the heavy-duty winter clothes again.

When we return, we will only have six weeks left before we leave!

Can’t you see the excitement on the faces?  This is actually an oldie, but it was too good to pass up.

Coffee Table 1 – Micaiah 0

All kids get bumps and bruises from time to time, but ours seem to get black eyes and stitches!  Here is the latest.  Kaya decided she would try to play catch with a bouncing ball.  To her credit, she kept her eye on the ball up until the point she crashed into the table.  I will never understand why these things happen when I go out of town.  Usually I am in Mexico when Jill calls to tell me one of the kids hurt themselves.  Note to spouses:  please do not call your husband when he is out of the country and say  something like this “Brian, Carson needs stitches, and I am taking him to the ER” and then hang up with no further details.

There is never a dull moment in the Minnix household.  I guess it is God’s grace that I am never around when the kids get hurt.  I can’t stand to see my precious children in pain.   So a thank you is in order to my awesome bride who endures that which I can’t stomach!
